Wanted :: Your Opinion

I got this call for feedback from Digital Scrapbooking Magazine today. I think it's fabulous they're looking to hear from the consumer. Here's the specifics:

We need digital scrapbookers’ opinions for an upcoming change in the design of Digital Scrapbooking magazine. This is highly confidential, copyrighted information and you'll be under a strict non-disclosure agreement should you choose to participate. There are two ways you can participate:

1) If you’re in the Salt Lake City, UT area, you’re invited to participate in a focus group Wednesday, November 7 at 7 PM at the CK Media offices. Refreshments will be served and those in attendance will receive a prize package of CK Media goodies. Spots are limited to 10 participants and are available on a first-notify, first serve basis. This should last no more than an hour.

2) If you’re not able to attend the in-person focus group, you can complete an online survey to give us your opinion. We anticipate the survey will take 10-15 minutes, and all participants will be entered into a drawing for a load of goodies.

If you’re interested in either the focus group or the survey, please send an email to editor@digitalscrapbooking.com by the close of business Friday, November 2. We look forward to your feedback!

1_I spent the night on the side of the road in France because there were no hotels... following that up the next night sleeping out in front of a train station. (no, i'm not a bum, just a Tour de France junkie!)

2_I lettered in Tennis in high school.

3_I have a pierced tongue, and used to have a pierced belly button.

4_I did the annual "Little Red Riding Hood" bike ride in Logan Utah (38 mile route) when i was 5 months pregnant.

5_I'm not a natural redhead. Nor am I a natural pink, blue, or purple haired person, but i have at various times been each of those colors.

6_On multiple occasions I've willingly slept cuddled up close with a baby bat to keep him warm (see previous post for more info on that!).

7_I'm obsessed with Project Runway on Bravo and in another life I would love to be a clothing designer.

my pumpkin's first pumpkin!

Last night LilyKate got to carve her first pumpkin! We had a great time with all of the cousins, and talk about a photo op! She was fascinated and adorable to watch working alongside her Papa. If i had planned better this week's digital freebie could have been pumpkin designs, but some brushes of creepy webs and a spider will have to do. freebie :: batty for bats

I love bats! My second year of college my friend Canace and i spent a semester doing bat rescue in the remote rainforest of Australia. We spent our days locating sick Spectacled Flying Foxes and nursing them back to health. It was one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences of my life, and i've loved bats ever since. The above photo shows me with a full grown bat we named Cleo. She had an injury which prevented her from living on her own in the wild, so she hung out with us all the time in the "house" (essentially a pre-fab garage!). The photo on the right is another volunteer holding a cute little baby bat. Far from being scary, you'd never guess how sweet these bats can be. The Flying Fox in particular is an adorable animal with big huge eyes and a face much like a dog. Anyway, as promised below is this weeks digital Freebie! These 4 bat brushes coordinate with Jack, my Halloween themed digital scrapbooking kit, found on pcLayers. Also, not to be missed are some seriously killer tied ribbons and ric-rac that also match the Jack kit, an amazing freebie created by Natalie. let them eat cupcakes...

We're celebrating the release of my latest digital scrapbooking kit, Jack, with cupcakes! Besides being adorable and completely brimming with artistic decorating possibilites a good cupcake might just be the perfect treat. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but ever since my friend introduced me to the cupcakes at Dear Lizzy (in Alpine Utah), I insist on taking the 45 minute drive to aquire them. I've searched, and just can't find anything closer to home that compares. They are so pretty you almost don't dare take a bite... but once you try one, yummmm! Perfectly moist, and even the decorative frosting is delicious! My own attempts at cupcake greatness tend to not turn out so well, I don't know why (Martha Stewart makes it look so easy). But after finding these Hello Kitty cupcakes on my favorite cupcake blog I just might need an excuse to try again... And check out Martha Stewart's creepy creations for Halloween! How perfect are those!

October is my favorite time of year. The crisp cool air, the changing leaves, and especially Halloween! In the spirit of the season my latest Digital Kit, "Jack," is set to release on pcLayers this Wednesday (Oct. 10th). It's a dark take on the coming holiday, inspired greatly by my love of all things Tim Burton. The image above is a sneak peak of some of the elements.
