vintage groove

anyone in need of a crafty spring fashion fix? lucky little me had just the thing walk through my door the other day. when my always hip little sis Nica dropped by she was sporting a fabulous necklace, which my mother announced "looks like something celeste would have paid a million dollars for". (thanks mom, sheesh.) apparently Nica and a few well connected friends got together for an afternoon of jewelry making with a box FULL of the new Making Memories "Vintage Groove" jewelry supplies (lucky girls!). 

Oh how i'm loving their sweet eclectic mix of detailed vintage charms and pendants. Metal, resin, shell, and fabric accents are all mingled together for that funky Anthropologie or Betsey Johnson look. Best of all you can customize your necklace for a completely unique piece at a fraction of the price. too fun, i love it and can't wait to try some of my own!

 

birdies not included

Recently we had our turn hosting playgroup once again. With spring almost in the air (no thank you for the 10 inches of snow we got this week. boo.), LK and i took a trip to Michaels for glorious crafting inspiration. Luckily for us right next to the check stand was a tall stack of $1 birdhouse kits! complete with precut wood, glue, paint, and a brush. i kid you not. cheapest, easiest, funnest preschool craft project ever! and what a treat to see how each little Picasso chose to paint their birdhouse, letting their unique personalities shine through. one had a rainbow striped roof, a few painted flowers, another finger painted instead of using the brush, and one devoted young fan created an ode to his favorite football team. wish every day could be this creative! 

and now there's a 9 month old tangling himself in my computer cord whilst nibbling on my toe.. think that's my cue to sign off. happy spring all!
