Since I pretty much took the entire summer off from blogging what better way to start back up again than with a back to school post? We are at a new elementary this year (LOVE!! BEST teacher ever!!), and although most people don't know us they somehow hooked me into being in charge of the "birthday bulletin board". & I'm using the term "bulletin board" in the loosest sense, because what i've really got to work with is a brick wall. Fortunately for me it's a lovely retro shade of blue! The school theme for the year is "All-Stars", so keeping that in mind I pilfered my stock piles of scrapbooking paper and die-cut a billion stars to use for the kids names. quick. easy. & practically free! To spice it up I taped them together to form a star shape, with a large central "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" sign in the middle. If only keeping my blog up to date were this simple ;)
TIP: In order to easily create a nice star shape, tape some twine up to follow as a guide before attaching the names to the wall, then remove the twine when you're finished. voila!
